Working in partnership has always been central to the Groundwork approach and is a key element of our success in building sustainable communities.
Each Groundwork Trust is a partnership between the public, private and voluntary sectors. Trusts sit on local strategic partnerships and work closely with their local authorities and community stakeholders to ensure that work is focussed upon local need and priorities.
Groundwork Wales is a partner in the Communities First Support Network, Environment Wales and the Valleys Regional Park Partnership, working to deliver government initiatives and bring benefit to communities across Wales. The Director of Groundwork Wales sits on partnerships including Wales Environment Link, the Sustainable Development Forum for Wales and the Objective 1 Advisory Group on Community Economic Regeneration. The Trusts sit on many local forums and partnerships taking forward Communities First, Community Strategies, economic development, European funding, education and access and countryside work.
We work closely with bodies such as the Department for Enterprise, Innovation, and Networks of the Welsh Assembly Government, Countryside Council for Wales and Forestry Commission Wales. We are valued for our role in helping to deliver the objectives of our key partners and those of the Welsh Assembly Government.
We also work with our partners to inform and influence policy debates and wherever possible, work in partnership with the private sector.
As part of the Federation of Groundwork Trusts, we are able to draw on the experience and good practice of Trusts and partner organisations across the UK and around the globe.
