Groundwork in Wales delivers a wide variety of programmes and projects to improve people’s lives, the places where they live and the prosperity of individuals and specific communities.

Each of the local Trusts offers a variety of services to individuals, groups, businesses and schools in their area of operation.

In addition to the services offered by the local Trusts, Groundwork Wales run a number of Wales-wide programmes. Groundwork can provide advice and support to groups, businesses and organisations on a variety of themes and are well placed to signpost to our partners where appropriate.  Our services include:

environmental improvement

Delivering physical improvements to the environment that benefits individuals, groups and communities across Wales

community and area development

Supporting local areas through community engagement and partnership working allowing development to be addressed from the ground up

tackling climate change

Underpinning all activity is the principle of sustainable development, with recycling and fuel efficiency work addressing the issue of climate change on both the local and global environment

promotion of health and well-being

Groundwork in Wales promotes health and well-being activities to individuals, groups and communities providing viable healthy lifestyles choices

youth engagement

Supporting the youth of Wales to raise their skill levels, aspirations and engagement in their communities adopting an active and responsible attitude to their local area

relief of economic inactivity

Groundwork in Wales provides solutions for training and economic inactivity that are vital to ensure continued prosperity across Wales

promotion of social enterprise

Developing and supporting social enterprises Groundwork in Wales addresses the needs and social purpose of local communities

engagement with business

Groundwork in Wales provides opportunities for business to address ‘triple bottom line’ accounting through involvement with its programmes and services

volunteering opportunities

Individuals, groups and organisations are engaged to support the building of sustainable communities by volunteering across a range of programmes
